Bokeh

Description:

A type of blur that is caused by depth of field. Depending on the setting you give it can have a lot of different shapes, the most common shape is a circle.

Use:

Use for backgrounds to give it a little bit of colour, but not so much it becomes distracting. Subtlety is key here.

This method can also be used to add interest to fill a blank space. If your manager says it's missing something, give it a bit of bokeh.
