The Trailer... for the trailer.

Description:

A 6 second trailer that sits at the front of a trailer. This is really the 5 seconds of the most hype-est parts of the trailer, followed by the logo, and ‘official trailer’ (or something like that) slapped at the end. Quite a simple technique that has become quite the trend in film trailers now, mainly because the shortest adverts you can have on YouTube are 6 seconds long. Sometimes, motion graphic techniques are thrown in to add to the hype.

Use: The use of this technique has come from research in advertising. These trailers for the trailer are about 6 seconds long - which at the time of writing is the average attention span. They’re pre trailers here to pull people in and get them watching the trailer on platforms such as YouTube, as the minimum advert time on youtube is funnily enough 6 seconds.

Genre:  Medium

Personally I cannot stand these...
